Take Your Life Into Your Own Hands...
There I sat, watching my seven year old use computers with a proficiency that I didn't think I'd ever have. He played video games with awesome graphics, flitted through websites at a break-neck speed, and could find the answer to any question I had.
Then smartphones came along, and boy did I feel stupid. I stared and tapped on my screen, while he could move between applications with his eyes closed. I kept running out of space to take pictures while he was taking awesome shots on what seemed like endless amounts of storage. I could ask him to text someone for me, and five seconds later he'd reply, "done."
While I was digging through the Yellow Pages for the phone number of local businesses, he was already browsing the menu.
Now, he can even order Denny's to our doorstep from his phone.
So what was I supposed to do? I didn't want to keep asking him time and time again to show me how to do everything.
I wanted to be able to at least keep up with him.
